A Nigerian man, High Chief Lawrence Igbins Okoro, is trending on social media following his reaction to the post of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar, to ace British broadcaster, Pierce Morgan.
Piers Morgan, who is the host of ‘Piers Morgan Uncensored’, and Yusuf Tuggar recently exchanged words over the minister’s request that their interview be aired unedited.
Tuggar said on Wednesday that he appeared on Morgan’s show to present “a factual and contextual perspective on the misleading narratives and allegations of religious persecution in Nigeria”.
According to him, his explanations may not have conformed to certain preconceived views, but he maintained that they were supported by verifiable data.
Tuggar wrote, “However, for the sake of integrity and transparency, it is essential that the full interview be aired exactly as recorded, without edits or selective omissions. Nigeria’s truth must not be distorted to fit external biases.”
Reacting to the minister’s post, Morgan said’s demand for an unedited airing demonstrated panic.
He wrote, “You seem to be panicking, foreign minister. Rest assured, we will air your comments in full; the show is called “Uncensored” for a reason,” the broadcaster said on Thursday.
“Whether people believe what you said remains to be seen.”
Not one to run from fierce battle, Tuggar posted a hilarious reply, “I am as cool as a cucumber, Mr Morgan. And if I wasn’t more equable, I would say you are flattering yourself, but I won’t. Just want to make sure you don’t edit out the parts where you kept referring to the ‘Chibok Boys’! Well researched.”
The minister’s reply seemed to mock Morgan’s supposed mix-up of the Chibok girls — the schoolgirls abducted in Borno state by Boko Haram in 2014.
Impressed by the minister’s response, Okoro asked him to send his account to his personal message.
He wrote, This is one of the greatest responses I’ve seen on this app. Dear Minister kindly DM your Opay.”
As of the time of writing this, the post has over eighty-nine thousand views on X.

Recall that President Trump recently designated Nigeria as a “Country of Particular Concern” over claims of a Christian genocide in the country. He further threatened to launch a military action in Nigeria if the federal government refused to stop the killings.
