There was a moment of panic when a guest suddenly fainted beside U.S. President Donald Trump at the White House, the official residence and workplace of the American President.
The incident occurred on Thursday, November 6, as Trump was preparing to make an announcement about reducing the cost of obesity drugs.
The guest, identified by White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt as a representative of one of the participating healthcare companies, collapsed while Eli Lilly CEO David Ricks was speaking.
Witnesses said the individual, who was standing with administration officials and pharmaceutical executives behind Trump’s desk, suddenly lost consciousness and was gently guided to the ground by those nearby.
“You OK?” Ricks was heard asking, as Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Administrator Mehmet Oz and others rushed to assist.
Trump immediately stepped out from behind the Resolute Desk while members of the press were ushered out of the room.

Leavitt later confirmed that the person received prompt medical attention and was “doing fine.”
When journalists were allowed back in, Trump reassured them, saying: “You saw he went down. And he’s fine. They just sent him out. He’s got doctors’ care. But he’s fine.”
The event, which had been ongoing for about 30 minutes, briefly paused following the incident.
This marks the second fainting episode at the White House this year. In April, a young girl fainted during Mehmet Oz’s swearing-in ceremony but quickly recovered, according to officials.
