The Senator representing Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has extended an invitation to Senate President Godswill Akpabio to attend a project commissioning event in her constituency.
Akpabio read Natasha’s invitation letter during Thursday’s Senate plenary session. The ceremony is scheduled for Sunday in Ihima, Kogi State, as part of activities marking her second year in the Senate.
“In celebration of my second year as a serving Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, I invite my fellow Distinguished Senators to join me for the commissioning of projects in Kogi State,” the letter stated.
The invitation also mentioned that the meeting point will be at her residence, Plot 101, Jimoh Akpoti Street, Ihima, Okene, and advised senators flying in to use the Obajana Airstrip before proceeding by road to Ihima.
After reading the letter, Akpabio congratulated Natasha ahead of the event, saying, “Congratulations in advance.”
The move is widely viewed as a gesture of reconciliation between the two lawmakers following their earlier disagreement this year.
In February, a dispute over seat reallocation resulted in Natasha’s six-month suspension from the Senate on March 6. Since her reinstatement on September 24, she has become more active during plenary sessions and has occasionally engaged with the Senate President.
Her latest invitation marks her most public effort toward restoring cordial relations with Akpabio since their earlier conflict.
