The Awujale and paramount ruler of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona, is dead
In a report by WesternPost, a reliable source close to the Awujale’s Palace in Ijebu-Ode and officials within the Ogun State Government confirmed the monarch’s death on Sunday.
The monarch passed away just hours after the announcement of the death of Muhammadu Buhari, his longtime friend and former president.
Oba Adetona, who ascended the throne in 1960, was one of Nigeria’s longest-reigning traditional rulers.
A highly respected voice among Yoruba monarchs and across the country.
Details of the circumstances surrounding his death are still emerging, and official statements from the palace and state government are expected shortly
