Angry Lecturer assaults Polytechnic Student for not following instruction [Video]

A Nigerian lecturer at the Federal Polytechnic Nekede, Imo State, has sparked outraged after assaulting a male student in front of his colleagues for allegedly not following instruction.

A now-viral video shows students standing around the lecturer when a boy changes his position. Immediately, the lecturer goes after him, slaps him, and delivers a kick that sends him to the ground, his back hitting the concrete.

Other students scream while the lecturer begins scolding the boy for not following instructions.

The boy explained that he had a headache, which led to his action, but the lecturer continued to scold him while other students pleaded on his behalf.

“Sorry sir,” other students are heard begging the lecturer.

The polytechnic’s management is yet to issue a statement concerning the development. Watch Here

Meanwhile, the incident has sparked outrage and led to a discussion about Nigerian lecturers and how they treat students in the name of discipline.

A Facebook user, Ogechi Laura Amajuoyi-Aboh said; “This one beats his wife at home if he’s married. Why is professionalism so difficult for my people? I wish the next generation would not base their children’s confidence on their financial strength.

“The two are not connected in anyway. Raise your children to stand up for themselves AND for others. Imagine the students apologising to the abuser. Someone in Nekede please give us update. Has he lost his job and locked up?”

Nnaemeka Nwokocha reacted; “What if that young man had hit his head on that interlocking concrete floor? E gwere iwe gbuo ochu, iwe njuo, ochu adoro! When you kiiiil in anger, the result of the killlllllling stares you in the face when the anger has subsided.”

Ozioma Agada wrote; “I believe this did not really happened. Because i don’t understand. And his fellow students just kept quite like that.?”

Civilian Kelechi Amucha said; “I can only put the blame on the other students. Students unionism is dead in our schools. Aluta continua!”

Glory Nwawom commented; “That’s exactly how a lecturer naked my course mate when we were writting our second semester exams there in same nekede. Thank God the then rector suspended him Imagine he can’t even speak flaunt English to the end. Nekede has rude lectures…”
