President Bola Tinubu is set to meet with the entire Lagos State House of Assembly at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The Speaker, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, arrived at approximately 2:50 PM, while other members of the Assembly arrived earlier in two coaster buses. The meeting is believed to be linked to the ongoing leadership crisis within the legislative body.
Obasa was recently impeached by some of his colleagues but was reinstated following the intervention of key political figures, particularly the Governing Advisory Council (GAC). However, tensions remain high despite his return to office.
In a related development, Obasa has filed a corruption case against former Speaker Mojisola Meranda. Additionally, he is currently in court contesting the allegations that led to his initial removal. These allegations include fraud, high-handedness, abuse of office, and gross misconduct.
The respondents in the suit include members of the Lagos State House of Assembly and Mojisola Meranda.
