The Seventh-Day Adventist (SDA) Church in Wenchi West, Bono Region, honoured 20 girls aged 13 to 16 for maintaining their virginity during a special Thanksgiving service. Organised by the Young Adventist Women Ministries, the event aimed to promote moral integrity and holistic development. Coordinator Mrs. Nana Amponsah Poku encouraged the girls to uphold self-confidence, make wise decisions, and choose friends carefully.
Mrs. Nana Amponsah Poku urged the girls to cherish their uniqueness and maintain their virginity until marriage, advising them to be mindful of their friendships in 2025. She highlighted the ancient Bragoro and Dipo rites as vital in preserving virginity and reducing teenage pregnancies. Associate Pastor Andrews Dua Bour Kyereh commended the girls for their discipline and purity, encouraging them to focus on education and faith while inspiring others in the church and community to emulate their example.
