Arsenal F.C has. strengthened chances at Premier League title push after an emphatic 4-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur F.C. in the North London Derby, reopening a five-point gap over Man City F.C., though having played one match more.
Under the watch of Igor Tudor, Spurs has created a tensed atmosphere at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
With this, Arsenal has again controlled possession early, but Radu Drăgușin blocked Viktor Gyökeres, while Leandro Trossard’s long-range effort was saved.
Gyokeres later find his way to fired narrowly wide before play was briefly halted due to communication issues among officials.
The visitors kept pressing. William Saliba, meanwhile, headed wide from a corner, and Trossard failed to capitalise on a misplaced pass by Xavi Simons.
The breakthrough came just after the half-hour when Bukayo Saka beat his marker and squared for Eberechi Eze, who reacted quickest to score.
Tottenham responded within 24 seconds of the restart. Randal Kolo Muani dispossessed Declan Rice and fired past David Raya to level before halftime.
After another brief delay, Arsenal struck again. Simons had tested Raya when Gyokeres powered home inside 90 seconds of the restart, beating Guglielmo Vicario. Kolo Muani thought he had equalised, but his effort was ruled out for a push on Gabriel Magalhães.
Saka remained dangerous and, after being denied by Vicario and Micky van de Ven, Eze struck again to take his tally to five goals in his last two North London Derby matches.
Raya later saved superbly from Richarlison to prevent late drama. Gyökeres sealed the win late on, holding off Archie Gray before finishing clinically.
The result was Arsenal’s third win in eight league matches and restored breathing space over Manchester City in the title race.
For Spurs, a third straight defeat leaves them four points above the relegation zone, extending a frustrating run.
