Yakubu Dogara Declares Support For PDP Presidential Candidate, Atiku As PDP Appoints Him As A Member Of PDP’s PCC[Details]

The former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, has sparked reactions online following his appointment as a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential Campaign Council (PCC).

Ideemlawful reported that the Director General of the PDP PCC and Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Tambuwal, had in a statement on Sunday announced the appointment.

The fresh appointment comes on the heels of the decision by Dogara to declare support for the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

We recalls Dogara, and other Northern Christian leaders in his camp who rejected the Muslim-Muslim ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC), had declared their support for Atiku in the 2023 presidential election.

The leaders under the aegis of the Northern Leaders Consultative Forum revealed their decision on Friday at a media conference in Abuja.

It however remains unclear if the former Speaker has now defected to the PDP following his appointment to the party’s presidential campaign council.

However, some netizens have taken to social media to slam the former Speaker of the Green chamber over his appointment despite being a member of the ruling party.
