CAF Rejects Sierra Leone’s Offer to Host Super Eagles

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has rejected Sierra Leone’s request for the country’s second largest city, Bo, to host Ivory Coast’s 2024 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Nigeria.

iDeemlawful reports Sierra Leone had written to CAF to host the Africa Cup of Nations fifth qualifying round at the new 6,000-seater South Stadium in Bo. CAF decided to reject poor hotel options in the city. That means Sierra Leone will have to find a way to host Nigeria in June.

Super Eagles of Nigeria top Group A of the qualifiers with nine points after three wins from four matches, while Guinea-Bissau are seven points ahead after a huge upset in their penultimate match against Nigeria in Abuja.
