She added that the race is continuous and there are so much opportunities to serve humanity within the political space which I was able to explore so much to the Glory of Allah.

Openiyi however ahead INEC’s declaration, congratulates the victorious candidate, Sylvester Ogunkelu of the All Progressives Congress who polled highest number of valid votes.

Her official statement partly reads:

Allhamdullilah for the success of the election as I started the race and ended the race in peace prosperously.

I appreciate those that supported and encouraged me while spurring us to keep going.

I appreciate those that looked down on me because they also helped me to keep striving to become a better version of myself.

I may not be the winner but I am not a loser because my name was not soiled all through the process.

The race is continuous and there are so much opportunities to serve humanity within the political space which I was able to explore so much to the Glory of Allah.

The experience was worthwhile and hopefully we should bounce back stronger with better strategies to conquer.

Blissfully, I say thanks to my team, my supporters and understanding family.

Lastly, I use this medium to congratulate honorable Sylvester Ogunkelu (Sketel) for his victory at the polls.

We shall meet at higher heights.

Honorable Maryam Tolulope Openiyi
House of Assembly Candidate, Epe Constituency 2
