The Chairman, Committee on Local Government and Rural Development, Kaduna State House of Assembly, Honourable Rilwanu Aminu Gadagau, has been reportedly killed by bandits.

As a clerk of the House confirms his death, further information gathered by Voice of Nigeria (VON) Correspondent is that the killing took place along the Zaria-Kaduna expressway.

In a statement signed and made available to journalists by the Special Assistant on Media to the Speaker, Ibrahim Dahiru Danfulani, he said the Speaker of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Rt. Honourable Yusuf Ibrahim Zailani has described the situation as devastating.

His remains were found in a morgue on Wednesday, and it was suspected to have been one of those killed by bandits on Monday night along Kaduna-Zaria Highway.

He explained, “This is tragic and painful. We are in deep grief over this sad incident,” Zailani said.

While praying for Almighty Allah to grant the State Assembly and his family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss, the Speaker also prayed that the deceased be granted Aljannah Firdaus.

“Our prayers at this time go to his immediate family. Honourable Gadagau was a young and dynamic lawmaker who had a passion for his constituency, state and Nigeria. We will miss his vibrant contributions,” he declared.

The Speaker also commiserated with families of others who died during the same attack.

“Our hearts also go to those kidnapped in the same operation, believing that they would be rescued by security operatives as soon as possible,” he said.
